My journey from Frontline Associate to Compliance Officer at Western Union IMT
I began my career at Western Union as a Frontline Associate, never expecting how deeply this role would shape my professional path. It was in this position that I learned the value of customer service, precision, and integrity, all core to the culture at Western Union.
As the years went by, I had the chance to expand my knowledge, participate in training programs, and work alongside with inspiring colleagues. This experience allowed me to grow into the role of Floor Supervisor and later transition to Cirkel Group’s head office, where I served as Lead Cashier.
Over time, my interest in compliance and ethical business practices grew stronger. With the support of my team and leadership, I was able to take the next step into my current position as Compliance Officer.
Today, I help ensure that our organization remains aligned with legal and regulatory standards. I am proud of how far I have come and grateful for the opportunities that Western Union offers to those who are eager to grow. My story is proof that dedication, a willingness to learn, and strong teamwork can open doors to new opportunities.

They say marketing doesn’t sleep. And working in the marketing department for two of the biggest Quick Service Restaurants in Suriname for over 6 years, I can definitely testify to that statement.

Being part of the KFC and Pizza Hut Family, locally and on international grounds has been an amazing experience. Working and collaborating with an amazing team who all work towards the same goals.

Started as a Marketing Coordinator for Pizza Hut, grew to be the Brand Lead of KFC and Pizza Hut in Suriname.
My journey within the company has shaped my life professionally, but also personally.
Each day filled with new challenges and opportunities, accompanied by colleagues who push you to be better all the time!

During my time at Cirkel Group, I had the opportunity to gain meaningful experience within the Finance Department of Cirkel Direct Sales N.V. I was actively involved in processing and analyzing financial data, which strengthened my understanding of administrative workflows and process improvement.
What I appreciated most was the work environment, professional yet approachable, with teamwork at the heart of everything. The support and feedback I received from my colleagues played an important role in helping me grow within the field.
The balance of responsibility, guidance, and room for initiative truly contributed to both my personal and professional development.

My name is Ismaël Moentari, born on January 8, 1985. I began my career at Courtyard by Marriott Paramaribo in 2012 as a waiter. Driven by a genuine passion for hospitality, I was given the opportunity to further develop myself in various roles and skills.

After this period, I explored a different sector, but it soon became clear that my true passion lies in hospitality. That realization led me to fully recommit myself to the industry.
Upon returning, I started again with fresh energy and a strong desire to grow. My willingness to learn, combined with teamwork alongside my colleagues and the management team, paved the way for an impressive career path within the company. Over the years, I have served as a waiter, room service attendant, bartender, banquet houseman, banquet captain, and banquet manager.
My dedication did not go unnoticed. I was awarded Employee of the Month multiple times, and in 2022, I was honored as both Employee of the Year and the recipient of the Courtyard by Marriott Paramaribo Hospitality Award. I was also entrusted with the responsibilities of Assistant Food and Beverage Manager.

The key to my success has been my passion, self-confidence, and determination to learn and grow. With the belief and support of the senior management team, I was able to reach my full potential.
To me, Courtyard by Marriott is more than just a workplace. It is a place where colleagues feel like family, and where personal development goes hand in hand with team spirit and high-level hospitality.

My name is Bjorn Ajeremi and I currently serve as a Restaurant General Manager. I began my career at KFC Suriname in October 2019 as a Team Member Trainer at the Lallarookhweg branch. Two years later, in 2021, I was promoted to Shift Supervisor. After six months, I moved into the role of Assistant Manager in 2022, and one year later, in September 2023, I was appointed Restaurant General Manager. Since November 2024, I have been leading the team at KFC Wilhelminastraat.

This role has taught me how to work with people from diverse backgrounds and manage various personality types, all while staying focused on achieving our daily targets. Leading a restaurant comes with many different responsibilities, from managing costs to maintaining high guest satisfaction. The constant challenges that come with the job make it both dynamic and deeply rewarding.

I am Remaya Matadin, Restaurant General Manager at Pizza Hut Wilhelminastraat, and I have been working here for two years now.

Working within this organization has been a truly positive experience. Every day brings its own challenges, which keeps the job exciting and engaging. In this company, you are seen and appreciated. I started as an Assistant Restaurant General Manager and progressed to my current role as Restaurant General Manager. There are many growth opportunities within the organization, and I know that being a Restaurant General Manager will not be my final stop.
